Colorful streets of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Oct. 2015

Visited some friends in the DR after two weeks of backpacking in Peru and Bolivia. Luggage got misplaced at the airport and arrived one day late. Thankfully, my friend penciled in two days of our schedule in the capital, Santo Domingo. While waiting for my luggage, we took a guided city tour. Visited several beautifully haunting sites. Churches, a fort, an asylum, chocolatier’s. This one street really caught my eye. Something about the bright colors under the hot tropical sun. Unfortunately for me, I was stuck in a long sleeve thermal shirt and hiking boots. Great for Machu Picchu and Lima, but not Santo Domingo. But, even my wardrobe misfortune couldn’t prevent me from enjoying the vibrant city.
